Waterfalls of the Keweenaw Area

Marquette County

Company Meadow Falls

smelly little woodland drops

South of the massive Tilden Mine is a handful of tailing ponds that are still actively used by the complex. Most of these ponds drain into Schweitzer and Escanaba River, though one or two of them trickle into an unnamed creek in the east. This little creek pools from one swamp to the next and eventually tumbles down into Warner Creek over a series of smelly, yet pretty, waterfalls.

Directions

South of Palmer, right before M-35 goes past Warner Falls, turn right on 565 (Missouri Road) for less than a mile. Before the road crossing a swampy creek there is a little track on the left side of the road. Park on the track and hike in, making a careful crossing of the beaver pond at the end. Continue east along footpaths, which eventually meet back up to the creek, until you reach the falls. There are several drops to view before it flows into Warner Creek.
