Yondota Falls
rugged, rocky land along the Presque Isle River
While Yondota Falls is technically a single plunge nestled in between two large mounds of rock, this stretch of Presque Isle River is home to a number of rapids and cascades both above and below the plunge. The main drop crests off a sheer stone lip and changes the color of the water from a tinted brown to foaming white almost instantaneously. The surrounding drops are mostly shorter cascades over and around scattered boulders and outcroppings. Tall cedars and easy walking paths make this a great, if short, visit.
Directions
From US-2 near Marenisco head north on County Road 523 for 3.1 miles. Park on the shoulder, just past the bridge, and follow the path leading downstream (there should be a wooden sign marking it). The falls are a short walk from the road.
