Lower Tahquamenon Falls
large slides and drops around an island along the Tahquamenon
The lower falls on Tahquamenon River are not quite as dramatic as the {{link=“falls/tahquamenon-river/upper-tahquamenon-falls” anchor=“upper ones”}}, with the river split and sliding around a large island, though the size and scale are just as impressive. Numerous trails and boardwalks surround the area and canoe rentals are available to give any visitor a fun adventure.
Directions
Follow M-123 north out of Newberry for 26 miles, turning out the sign for the state park. From here follow the multitude of signs and paths to view the falls.
