Tahquamenon Falls

Often called the second-largest waterfall this side of the Mississippi, Tahquamenon Falls is one of the most visited state parks in the Upper Peninsula (and a very impressive waterfall). These falls can drain as much as 50,000 gallons of water per second during peak runoff times over a sharp plunge, forming a steady and scenic curtain of stained water on the otherwise calm wide river. Plenty of paths and gift shops are accessible near this and the {{link=“falls/tahquamenon-river/lower-tahquamenon-falls” anchor=“lower drops”}}.

Directions

Follow M-123 north out of Newberry for 26 miles, turning out the sign for the state park. From here follow the multitude of signs and paths to view the falls.
